A copy of an old crime???

The basic premise is that a well off banker decided to see how it feels to commit a perfect crime and not get caught. He expects the world to laud him for doing the crime twice. He did not account for several other factors as well. He thought he was dyeing of cancer, thus if caught he would not go to jail.

As is typical of this series the criminal is highly intelligent, well educated and has not resolved childhood family issues.

The hero and the FBI agent work well together. Will they remain partners, develop a strong friendship or possibly more?

All in all, a well written story with many facets and changes. There were some questions left in answered, especially regarding accomplices which feel should have been addressed.

Enjoy the read while I pursue book 4.

Entertaining and a good read. I was distracted by the lack od depth in explanations of the capture and escape situations, as well as the dated conversations, but the characters and scene descriptions were enough to make me read on. Taken as a whole, book three made me reach quickly for book four.

I found this to be a helpful book inasmuch as the study of the origins of the Cold War is like unto the study of human interactions and communication more generally. Sometimes you're dealing with people of goodwill who share your general objectives, and sometimes you're not - deception and masquerade makes for enjoyable reading from the relative safety of a future successfully safeguarded. Reading Feis' transcriptions of the words of Molotov, Vyshinski, etc to the effect that the USA wanted to enslave western Europe and indeed the entire world is fascinating and instructive. As with all his books that I've read so far the detail of the event chronology is excessive to the purpose of casual education, but necessary for the level of scholarship - so it's hard work but worth it. Not a book for someone needing a primer in the diplomacy of the time - more for someone with a good grasp of the basics and wanting deeper contemporaneous insight (and observations from later as well as Feis occasionally provides). This book also includes a reasonable summary of the failure of Marshall's year in China - we gave up on the CKS because further/deeper involvement would have been futile - plain and simple. Hard not to concur. The topic of Soviet transfer of atomic technology to the Chinese invites more investigation.

Every beginning surfer should read this book. I picked it up and couldn't put it down. MacLaren takes you through every aspect of surfing with wit and humor. I read it cover to cover, then went out and bought a 9 foot longboard (as suggested) and hit the beach. Within the first hour in the water I was standing up and riding waves in, without shelling out alot of cash for lessons. You don't need lessons, all you need is THIS BOOK!!!

Cool little book

I needed to do some research on surfing. This book was a great, little book that helped me out. It has some fun insights into surfing philosophy, history, materials, boards, waves, etc. It's like a surfing for dummies, but more fun and easier to read. I ended up also getting the Encylcopedia of Surfing, which was much easier to read after picking up this book.

About the Author
Wayne K. Hoy, former chair of the department of educational administration, associate dean of academic affairs, and distinguished professor at Rutgers University, is now the Novice Fawcett Chair in Educational Administration at The Ohio State University. Professor Hoy received his B. A. from Lock Haven State College in 1959 and his D. Ed. from The Pennsylvania State University in 1965. His primary research interests are theory and research in administration, the sociology of organizations, and the social psychology of administration. In 1973, he received the Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching from Rutgers University; in 1987, he was given the Alumni Award for Professional Research from the Graduate School of Education; in 1991, he received the Excellence in Education Award from The Pennsylvania State University; and in 1992, he was given the Meritorious Research Award from the Eastern Educational Research Association. He is past secretary-treasurer of the National Conference of Professors of Educational Administration (NCPEA) and is past president of the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). He currently serves on the editorial boards of the Educational Administration Quarterly, Journal of Educational Administration, the McGill Journal of Education, and the Journal of Research and Development in Education. Professor Hoy is coauthor with Professors D. J. Willower and T. L. Eidell of The School and Pupil Control Ideology (1967), with Patrick Forsyth of Effective Supervision: Theory into Practice (1986), and with John Tarter and Robert Kottkamp, Open Schools-Healthy Schools: Measuring Organizational Climate (1991). He has been described by the Australian Institute of Educational Administration as one of "the world's most widely read authors in the field of Educational Administration." Professor Hoy has written more than a hundred books, articles, chapters, and papers. His most recent books are Administrators Solving the Problems of Practice, (Allyn & Bacon, 1995) with C. J. Tarter; The Road to Open and Healthy Schools (Corwin, 1997) with C. J. Tarter; Quality Middle Schools (Corwin, 1998) with Dennis Sabo. Since October 1988, Cecil G. Miskel has been dean of and a professor in the School of Education at the University of Michigan. He served the University of Utah as a professor and chairperson of the Department of Educational Administration from 1982 to 1983 and dean of the Graduate School of Education from 1983 to 1988. He holds a doctor of education degree from Oklahoma State University. In addition, to being a co-author of the five editions of Education Administration, he has published widely in a variety of scholarly journals.

About the Author
In 1955 Dr. Theodore Papaloizos was teaching the Modern Greek language to his students at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, just as he had done for years. However, he felt that it was becoming increasingly difficult to find Greek language books that struck the delicate balance between thorough content and easy-to-follow methods. He chose to resolve the issue by writing in his free time. He released his first book two years later (in 1957). With positive feedback from students and colleagues, Dr. Papaloizos kept writing. PERFECT for Greek-American Kids

This series is PERFECT for Greek American kids. I've used Levels 1- 5 so far, always with the Reader/Workbook. Lessons should be 3-5 times a week or 6 times/week is best. A little a day is MUCH more effective than 8 hours one day week. The books teach letters, reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammer step by step. Perfect for kids who don't speak a word of Greek but also helpful for those that know some. Teacher should know at least some Greek (but doesn't have to be perfect.) (TIP: Start with Level 1 - don't waste time on preschool book 'My First Reader' series as it only includes lower case letters.)

The audio CDs have native Greek voices for the Greek words and cover all 43 lessons and all vocabulary words."
