I would go with a different book

Upon first use, the book seems very useful. It does its job of instructing the user on the basics of SolidWorks and is pretty easy to understand and follow. The problem comes when you finish the chapter. At the end of each chapter, there are exercises which are not guided so that you can test what you just learned. This is an awesome idea, and I really liked it - mostly. After the exercises are Project Parts. Generally the exercises use skills you have learned. However, the Project builds use several things that HAVE NOT been taught, shown, or displayed nor are they intuitive (otherwise we wouldn't need a book to learn the program). Attempting to figure out how to do the things that SHOULD have been taught can take hours. It is highly frustrating when you are attempting to do something that you know what you need to do, but just cannot figure out how to do it. So, you say, just skip the project stuff? Well, the project stuff, as it sounds like, leads to a full project that you put together. If you can't build the parts, no project to put together. I bought this book to teach me, not to make me as frustrated as I was without it. All I asked was that the author explain how to do the things he believes are important in using SolidWorks. If he believes the skills needed in the project are important, then they should be explained.

I'm a beginner on SOLIDWORKS & the school has SOLIDWORKS 2014-2015, but this works as a good guide even if some of the changes from 2014-15 to 2016 is a little frustrating, but overall it is a good investment for Beginners who don't want to damage a $10,000 Computer Program & need to learn to apply SOLIDWORKS as a tool in the field of Machinist/Technician.

Incredibly helpful

I purchased this supplement for use with the textbook Business Associations, Cases and Materials on Agency, Partnerships, and Corporations (University Casebooks) and found it to be a fabulous choice for learning the Agency and Partnership material of this course. The problems were very well written and seemed to be on the type of information we were eventually tested on. However, this supplement only includes information on LLCs, which was inadequate for the Corporations material of the casebook; because of this, I would recommend a different supplement for Corporations-related help.

Disappointed by this offering

I am normally a huge fan of E&E - they're the only reason I made it through my first year Civ Pro class unscathed - but this one was not nearly as helpful. For a general Business Enterprises broad survey type course which most schools offer, this is ridiculously detailed and contains way too much extraneous information. It tries to cover both the UPA and RUPA side-by-side, which necessitates two explanations for every example and can get pretty confusing at times. I can see how this may have limited usefulness for bar preparation if you need the UPA info for your jurisdiction, but your state will probably be getting with the program soon anyway.

That said, it's not the worst supplement I've ever used, and if there's one or two concepts that you need clarification on, this book does a fair job. I thought it was a pretty poor offering for the normally great E&E series, but it's probably still on par with other supplements that are out there.

Great book for Agency

Our class had an instructor who didn't really teach us the class but expected us to know the subject. I really didn't use this book until the middle of the semester but it "saved my life" in the class. To me, what was really helpful was the breakdown of the important areas, such as Respondeat Superior and the powers to bind. This author did a better job in teaching me than my instructor.

The most important area of the book is the ability to practice the essays using the examples given. If you know you are going to be tested on a particular subject within the area of agency. Use ALL the examples given for your practice tests. Most likely you get to practice the fact pattern that will be on the test. Good luck.

Useless

This has to be the most useless math book ever invented!!! This explains why it's so cheap. This book does not explain how they got the answer to a problem nor does it clearly explain anything. You cannot teach yourself from this book and if you have a horrible instructor you are basically out of luck. Overall I am very disappointed.

Not happy with it

I paid 58 dollars for this garbage. I am going to sell it for half now. I was really dissapointed that I had to rely on external websites for the explanations this book failed to give. Had to buy it for the class though..

Poor publishing

I have to agree with the other reviewers. This book glosses over a lot of important algebraic concepts, and example problems are not clearly delineated or explained step-by-step. I also wasn't happy with the general layout of the book: chapter sections weren't on the headers of each page, requiring me to page through a specific chapter to navigate my way to a specific chapter section. I suppose I could use the Table of Contents but I usually just open a book and expect whether I should page forward or reverse at first glance.

I was fortunate to have a very good instructor. He gave us very good notes to copy down. We only used this book to work out problems. It's a shame he didn't just didn't pass out "worksheets" with algebra problems in class--because that is all that would have been needed for my class.

Bottom line? Only get this book if your class requires it.

Tina wonders while driving passed them if her neighbors will get out in time, and thanking God that Jake had their own bug out survival bag (which he actually prepared in the event of an earthquake) was always on the ready.

But Tina and Jake are far from getting away safely themselves. Fragments of the asteroid strike all around the Los Angeles area, and while they themselves are not hit directly, the freeway system becomes a huge free-for-all as millions of panicked drivers hit the roads trying to get the hell out of dodge – but quickly get nowhere because of the clogged roads. Dust, smoke, fire and devastation blind and choke the area from the thunderous impacts of the fiery rain of asteroid fragments.

A Nice Starter Story and Food for Thought

Too short, but otherwise entertaining story about how being prepared is prudent, and not the same as being paranoid. The bug out bag here is adequate and we see as the married couple test it to its limits in this tale. The factors that cause the pair to bug out from their house might be applied to half a dozen other, more likely scenarios like an earthquake, forest fires or a hurricane where home is no longer liveable for soem reason. This bag will help get you out of the area and hopefully somewhere safer. This is not a book for hardcore preppers, but it might help someone decide to take some necessary precautions for a long trip or the daily commute in addition to what you might keep at home.

Free,was the right price

I got this book for free and I am thankful for that. As a short story it was not bad,kind of cute in fact. As for providing any real information on bug out bags it was sorely lacking. There was no real evaluation on what they had taken in their BOB or what they wish they had packed. In the end it was more of a badly planned camping trip as opposed to a bug out. If you have to pay for this book know that it is just a story and really won't teach you very much if any thing at all.

Very good. excellent for a beginner to realize the need for one. Something like this would have help me tremendously 10 + years ago. :) I would recommend a little more detail and uses, like actually starting the fire, etc. Also this would be a great way to get to some in the midwest by using it around the new Madrid, MO fault. Most of us just prep for tornado, well not me, not anymore. Thanks for writing it, but wouldn't price it very high I'd pay a $1.00 for it but no more there are too many free articles on the net.

Great Started Guide

I am a huge Bone fan and collector so of course I had to have this as well.

It is similar to The "Bone Sourcebook", but in a book form and printed by Scholastic. The book is about the same size and style as the other softcover Scholastic printings of the Bone comics, so overall it is good quality.

The information inside covers a wide range of topics, from a good overview of the story, the history of Jeff Smith, the fictional history of the valley, some fun facts, and a few rarely seen comic pages with little side stories. With this full-color book you also get a cardboard foldy pop-out thing of one of the stupid rat creatures that is also a little fun in its own way.

If you are new you Bone, this is a good place to start. If you are a Bone veteran, you can pass as you are probably not missing anything that you have never seen before. If you do not plan on reading Bone but want to be prepared for when the movie comes out (in the works right now), this might also work for you in that regard. Overall, a quality product, but a lot of Bone fans can skip it.

"Bone" collectors must have.

Nice way to get boys back into their Bone books again, good quality and easy to read. He added it to his collection, but not a good choice to count as "reading" for school.

My son loves these books!

My 12 year old son is a big comic book reader. He loves all comics, but most of the comics these days are not for the younger audiences since they are really geared more toward the adult audience due to the gore, language, and graphics. The Bone books are published like a comic book so he feels like he is actually reading a comic. It still has an interesting storyline, but not too juvenile for a 12-year old, but not too mature either (and no language). He has the entire set from book 1 up to the last book and he reads them front to back every time and has read a few of them more than once.

I highly recommend these books to children in the age groups of 10-12. They are paperback books, but great quality. For the price, you can't beat it.
